But not everyone loves summer. Why?

Summer can have a negative effect on your mood.

Difficulties are also noticeable in others, as the suffocating heat of summer, the constant sweating, and the constant work of the body to regulate temperature can increase irritability and aggressive behavior. It can also cause apathy, fatigue, restlessness, and general deterioration.

Moreover, in these rather unfriendly conditions, falling asleep and having a good night’s sleep can be a real challenge for some people. Insomnia and fatigue affect their state of mind and cognitive abilities. Drowsiness, irritability, and difficulty concentrating are very common.

Finally, there are those who experience so-called seasonal mood disorder in the summer. It is characterized by the appearance of feelings of grief, melancholy, and depression with the arrival of the summer season. It is much rarer than seasonal depression in winter, but still affects up to about ten percent of people.

What to do if summer affects your mood in a negative way?

If you belong to this group of people and the heat affects you negatively, you can take several steps. For example, try to stay hydrated and avoid going out in the sun when the day is at its hottest. Also, try to create a good sleep routine so that you can improve your rest and reduce the symptoms of sleep deprivation. Finally, try to get tools to manage your emotions.
