Teach Children Happiness

Teach children happiness

Teaching a child happiness is the most important task you will face as a parent. Of course, you want to provide your child with a good education and values, but the most important basic thing is to paint a smile on his or her face every single day.

Because if you don’t take your child’s happiness into account when teaching other things, nothing else is worth anything. The best way for a child to want to learn and internalize values is through interpersonal relationships in which they feel protected, as well as enjoying happiness every single day.

Below we want to offer you a set of tips for teaching happiness to your child. It is a complex but truly inspiring task that fills your heart and soul with satisfaction and pride.

Never target your frustration at them

If you want to teach your children happiness, make sure that you never, under any circumstances, direct your own frustration at them. Their hearts are unable to understand why they are required so much.

Maybe your own childhood dream was to be the best football player or the best student in your class, but  have you ever asked your own kids if that’s what they really want? They really become like you – we must not forget that they carry our genes – but they are different people, with their own needs and desires.

Achieve a good communication connection

When it comes to educating and teaching children, it is absolutely essential that you have a good communication connection with them.

For example, it is logical that frustration sometimes arises, both in children and in parents, given that children have not yet fully developed their own communication skills and abilities. In any case, you should not despair.

When you try to communicate with your children, or notice some strange or striking behavior, think of yourself. But think of yourself when you were a kid . Take the trouble and do a little introspection, step back into the past. How did you feel? What motivates you? What made you happy? You’ll probably find they have a lot in common with yourself, and this in turn will help you better understand them.

Use empathy

Related to the last point, when it comes time to teach your own child about happiness,  empathy is a very valuable tool as it will help you understand your little ones much better.

Understanding your own childhood desires and needs is very helpful as you try to understand and empathize with your children.

What games did you like? Which foods were your favorites? Did you like the way your parents treated you? How do you react to new things? Answering all of these and many other questions will help you enter the world of children and be able to build a happy relationship with them.

Offer them all your affection

When it is time to teach children happiness, it is important that you give them all your affection. In this sense, you should not leave a drop at the bottom of the well. Give it your all.

We should never confuse affection with giving a child everything he or she wants. Children and young people need routine and boundaries. They need to know what is right and what is not so that they can internalize values and feel safe, thus forming their own personality.

Having said this , let us notice that  children who get everything they want, be it material or emotional, are at real risk of becoming tyrants of the future, unable to understand themselves, frustrated and facing serious problems with their inner independence and building relationships with those around them.

Give them time

Educating children in happiness requires a lot of time and patience. To begin with, their closest family members are their entire world, a place where they feel safe, which is why you should always be there to support them.

As your children move forward, you need to play with them, enjoy their lessons, give them affection and security, and give yourself to them completely. Your time and patience are immensely valuable to them, for you are the mirror in which they see themselves  and the image of what they really want to be.

However, this should not be seen as an obligation. Teaching happiness to children will provide fulfillment for you as well, make you feel fuller, and it will be very natural for you  to always want to be by their side. Never forget this, ever.
